Sue works as a freelance musician, combining work as a gigging pianist and organist with consultancy and writing. She enjoys performing at weddings, funerals and other private events, as well as accompanying choirs and supporting soloists and ensembles. She works regularly with the Forget-me-not-Chorus and several choirs including the Adams Chorale, Côr Aduniad, and Lleisiau Voices Torfaen. She also plays for Come and Sing workshops, and supports local schools with their music-making.

Sue studied music and education at York and Cardiff Universities, then started her career as a secondary school teacher of music and drama. She was quickly promoted to a role in curriculum development, and spent 20 years working for various government departments sharing her expertise in learning, teaching, assessment, curriculum and qualifications. She has produced a wealth of education resources for Welsh Government, published research in the British Journal of Music Education, and authored materials for the BBC, iChild and the Times Educational Supplement.

Married with grown-up twins and two grand-children, Sue has a keen interest in writing for children and young people. Her children's book, Can I Tell You About Stammering? (Jessica Kingsley Publishers) has been translated into several languages. Though not fluent, she has an Advanced Certificate in Welsh Second Language, and is a keen runner.
